South Whidbey at Home Conference Room
A gentle gathering space for members, volunteers, and staff to pause, create, and connect.
No art experience needed—just bring yourself and a willingness to play. We‘ll work with simple materials, share quiet or conversation, and give ourselves permission to step away from the overwhelm. Think of it as a creative sanctuary where process matters more than product; where making something with your hands can help you see your day—and maybe your life—a little differently.
All supplies provided. Come as you are.
The world is grappling with a crisis as the
baby boomer generation ages into dementia.
The United States is no exception, with an
estimated nine million Americans projected to
be living with dementia by 2030.
In light of this, Wine, Women, & Dementia
provides a poignant and intimate look into the
human side of dementia. This film follows the
journey of former dementia family caregiver
and filmmaker, Kitty Norton, as she embarks on
a cross-country RV adventure with her best friend,
Beth Rigazio, to meet the dementia family caregivers
who provided virtual friendship and encouragement through their shared caregiver experiences. Through these face-to-face encounters, Norton seeks to deepen her understanding of the caregiving experience, and highlight the vital support that caregivers provide to one another, despite the physical distance between them.Wine, Women, and Dementia explores the themes of perseverance, familial devotion, and most importantly how to celebrate life on a long, long road to death. The film screening will be followed by a community conversation hosted by Beth Herrild, Executive Director of South Whidbey at Home, Aimie Vallat, Advisor to Healing Circles Langley, and film director and producer, Kitty Norton!

We do these activities every day but often we do them in ways that don’t enhance our health and well being. Done properly we can improve our health, strength and balance and reduce strain to our bodies. Importantly, our movement patterns often can cause strain and pain – especially back, hip, neck and knee pain. Let’s learn to move in a ways that positively contribute to our health and comfort. Richard Ennis has spent 20 years studying chronic pain and movement patterns that can help you be more comfortable. We will discuss these patterns, including how we sit, stand, and move to improve our longevity.
Rich Ennis, MS, is a Senior Research Scientist, an Advanced Rolfer practicing at Whidbey Island Rolfing, and a long time Masters Swimmer and cold-water swimmer.
